Saatchi Yates commissioned Fitzbrien to interview iconic Serbian performance artist Marina Abramović about ‘Red Period’ and ‘Blue Period’, two of her lesser-known video works in advance of her show at the gallery’s London space in October 2025.

‘Red Period’ sees Abramović exploring ideas of seduction, aggression and power, while ‘Blue Period’ focuses on apathy, melancholia and sadness.

Fitzbrien’s second time working with Abramović, this project was shot in Manchester, UK while she was in rehearsals for her monumental new work ‘Balkan Erotic Epic’.
